JOB SUMMARY:
Teach nursery/preschool/elementary class, as needed, which meet each week on Sunday
mornings in the West Side YMCA building. This includes helping with setup and teardown,
teaching, and being a friendly and consistent face for Redeemer Lincoln Square children and
their families.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
● Teach either nursery, preschool or elementary class, depending upon need as
determined by the Director of Children’s Ministry.
● Nursery/preschool staff will be required to pick up children, play with the children on the
floor, change diapers and take children to the bathroom.
● Help setup and clean up classrooms at the YMCA.
● Setup class supplies and replenish as necessary.
● Review curriculum and lesson plans (provided by the LSQ Director of Children’s
Ministry) in advance to be prepared to teach upon arrival.
● Help facilitate elementary children walking over to the YMCA classrooms after dismissal
from the LSQ Sunday adult worship service.
● Facilitate and support the nursery/preschool/elementary class volunteers.
● Be the teaching lead of the curriculum with support from other Sunday staff and
volunteers. Teach the lessons in a gospel-centered and biblical way.
● Facilitate the dismissal process after the LSQ Sunday adult worship service is over.

REQUIREMENTS:
● Must be available on Sundays from 8:45AM to 12:30PM on Sundays
● Arrive on time each Sunday
● Attend mandatory training sessions each year to review policies & procedures and build
community as volunteers so that as a staff we can continue to serve the children of
Redeemer Lincoln Square safely and effectively
● Give at least 2 weeks notice prior to being absent. If ill, please notify the Children’s
Ministry Director as soon as possible.
● No more than 6 absences per year (including sick days).
● Work on Easter plus at least one Sunday during the winter holidays (around
Christmas/New Year's). Candidate can ideally work Sunday before and/or after
Christmas/New Year’s.
● A commitment to serve at least 1 year from start date.
● Must pass LSQ’s background check and reference check.

QUALIFICATIONS:
● Heart for God, families and children.
● Need to embrace LSQ’s vision and have a gospel-oriented heart for New York City.
● Experience in teaching or babysitting nursery, preschool or elementary children.
● Must be a team player and have character qualities such as integrity, wisdom and good
judgment.
● Must be punctual and responsible.
● Warm and engaging personality that is welcoming to parents and children, especially
those children who may have difficulty separating from their parents.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill set; experience and training; licensure, certifications, and ordination; and other organizational needs.
Compensation: $21.00 per hour
